GROWING THE REGIONAL ECONOMY
GLI works to influence growth in the regional economy through business attraction and expansion. A true regional economy requires the collaboration of distinct communities working together to retain and attract an educated and plentiful workforce, enabling the region to grow, thrive and prosper. Only when each of us succeeds do we all succeed – and that includes our regional communities. The Greater Louisville region is made up of 15 counties surrounding the Greater Louisville and Southern Indiana areas, home to more than 1.4 million people and over 58,000 businesses. GLI is here to support your organization whether you’re ready to move counties or expand your footprint. With any questions, email Ben Pratt, Chief of Regional Economic Growth, SVP.

NETWORKING & EVENTS
Whether you’re looking to promote your business or make connections, GLI can help! Our brimming schedule of events offers many opportunities to grow your network by creating business connections and advertise your business, learn from industry leaders, explore new and established venues throughout the region, participate in discussions on advocacy, and more!

In addition, our Investor Relations team can help to promote your business through ribbon-cutting ceremonies, social media promotions, and more.

TALENT & WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT
GLI puts strong efforts towards talent attraction, retention, and workforce development, as these are challenges that many employers are facing. Our team has developed great solutions to navigate an evolving workforce with strategies that best meet your needs. Whether you are relocating to the region and looking to recruit talent, upskill/reskill your current workforce, build talent pipelines, or expand/sustain current operations, GLI can assist you in navigating Greater Louisville’s robust workforce ecosystem.

WORKFORCE ECOSYSTEM HUB: GLI has developed a robust online platform to help both employers and job seekers identify opportunities and partnerships in our community. These include workforce partners, training programs (free and fee-based), financial aid, apprenticeship resources, and more! Employers can also find resources to eliminate barriers to work, and upskill/reskill their workforce, as well as info on state and federal funding available to supplement the cost of that training.

JOB SEEKER RESOURCES: Search the region’s largest local-only job board at LiveinLou.com/jobs and connect with employers who are looking for talent like you with GLI’s Job Seeker Connection Program. For new-to-Lou residents, connect with City Champs Ambassadors and explore relocation resources. And, if you are a college student, join Live in Lou’s professional and leadership development program called Finding You in Lou.

LINKEDIN TALENT INSIGHTS: Through a partnership with LinkedIn, GLI can develop customized campaigns to help you hire that hard-to-find talent. We analyze available talent across the U.S., identifying geographical areas where the supply of that talent outpaces demand, where salaries and/or cost of living are comparable or beneficial to Greater Louisville, and curate a list of potential candidates who fit those parameters. We then contact the candidates on your behalf and send qualified, interested candidates to your inbox. With any questions, email Christine Tarquinio, Vice President, Talent, Workforce, & Brand Strategies.

PRIVATE LABEL CAMPAIGNS: If you are looking to expand your business or need to fill large numbers of open positions, GLI can build a customized talent attraction campaign for you. Utilizing data gathered from their Talent Insights partnership, GLI will build a customized digital ad campaign to attract needed talent. The GLI team develops the creative, place and monitor the media, provide weekly optimizations, and reports regularly on engagement. Your role? To accept resumes, interview, and hire great candidates. For more information, email Christine Tarquinio, Vice President, Talent, Workforce, & Brand Strategies.

Jefferson BuiLT (Building Trades Leadership Training) is an employer-supported apprenticeship-style program. Apprentices will work for one of the program’s partner employers while taking classes. One day each week, apprentices will be in the classroom taking courses in carpentry, plumbing, electrical safety, blue print reading, and leadership. All of these (about 30 credit hours in total) count towards a diploma or associate degree in Construction Technology, Plumbing or HVAC.
