The University of Louisville Center for Engaged Learning The Workforce Solutions team at Jefferson Community and Technical College links the Greater Louisville community to the many resources Jefferson provides to meet regional workforce development needs. Right Choice Health Care Training Institute

RightChoice has dedicated teachers with a desire to help train the next generation of nurse aides and nurses. We offer small clinical class sizes (8 students) to allow for more personal, individualized attention. RightChoice Healthcare Training Institute offers online coursework and provides the clinical/practical training in a simulated clinical setting at their facility on Hurstbourne Pkwy. The training center is also open and available by appointment on non-class days for students to watch videos and practice skills.

Indiana University Southeast, a regional campus of Indiana University, is a four-year, public, comprehensive university located in New Albany, IN, just across the Ohio River from Louisville, KY. IU Southeast offers Sales Training through the Sanders Professional Sales Center (SPSC) The SPSC was created to draw high-ability students toward selling as a career, better prepare those students—regardless of major—for early success in professional selling careers, and to connect them with sales professionals in the Kentuckiana region. Kentucky School of Phlebotomy

Kentucky School of Phlebotomy is a dynamic educational institution focused on community education and specializing in training for phlebotomy and related health careers. This institution is committed to teaching the essential fundamentals for starting a career in healthcare, and students gain valuable experience in both hands-on skills and understanding the theories essential to practice. The KY School of Phlebotomy’s primary goal is to share experiences in the field of medicine to produce students whose skills are exceptional and whose understanding of safety is superior. This school consists of experienced professionals who provide students with the personal attention they need to succeed.

This program provides students with skills and training in order to succeed as a phlebotomist. The course contains 6-weeks of lecture, discussion, and practical instruction in the lab, followed by a 40-hour clinical externship at a local patient service center, hospital, or clinic. The hours of the externship are site-specific, but are usually done over the space of one week, Monday through Friday. This is a larger time commitment but the externship is a valuable clinical experience.

The Prosser Career Education Center is committed to providing multiple comprehensive programs and work-based learning experiences to all students. Prosser offers 26 different exciting Career and Technical programs with work-based learning activities. These programs allow students to collaboratively engage with local employers and Prosser instructors for structured learning experiences. These experiences allow students to apply knowledge and skills learned in the classroom and lab to real-world situations. All work-based learning experiences and activities are strategically integrated within the CTE curriculum. Some of this valuable learning will occur within the classroom environment while much of it will occur in a place of business or community organization.

Knight School of Welding

Knight School of Welding offers a variety of welding certification classes and completes small welding jobs in the Louisville, KY area. In their program, you’ll get hands-on experience with our MIG, STICK, TIG, and pipe welding training programs. University of Louisville

The University of Louisville is a state-supported research university located in Kentucky’s largest metropolitan area. It was a municipally supported public institution for many decades prior to joining the university system in 1970. The University has three campuses. The 287-acre Belknap Campus is three miles from downtown Louisville and houses eight of the university’s 12 colleges and schools. UofL CENTER FOR ENGAGED LEARNING

UofL CYBERSECURITY WORKFORCE CERTIFICATE PROGRAM

The Cybersecurity Workforce Certificate Program offered by the University of Louisville is workforce-focused and seeks to fill the gap of entry level positions and cybersecurity jobs. The University of Louisville has created a coalition of schools called “Pathways Coalition” to create a Cybersecurity Workforce Certificate program, funded by The National Centers of Academic Excellence in Cybersecurity. The Coalition focuses on enhancing student knowledge in cybersecurity foundational courses. Post-graduation, students will have the skillset to begin or grow a career in cybersecurity. UofL PUBLIC HEALTH TRAINING CENTER

The University of Louisville School of Public Health and Information Sciences is proud to be the Commonwealth of Kentucky Local Performance Site (LPS) for the Region IV Public Health Training Center (PHTC) located at Emory University Rollins School of Public Health in Atlanta. The Commonwealth of Kentucky PHTC LPS offers public health training workshops, continuing education, student field placements, and regional health assessment and collaborative development. The purpose of the University of Louisville PHTC is to strengthen the competencies of the current and future public health workforce, expose public health students to the value of working in underserved areas, advocate for public health systems and policies, and contribute to the work of the national PHTC program.
